Course Photo: Disengagement from Violence

Ger Shot Disengage to Safety

Training Director Gerard O’Dea was snapped on camera at a recent course demonstrating a concept from @Vistelar’s Verbal Defence and Influence programme about “When Words Alone Fail” – the moment when a professional decides to disengage from an interaction because it presents too much danger.  Disengagement is safest when you know you have time and opportunity to reach safety – in this picture the subject has been turned to face the opposite direction to Gerard first, using a smart disengagement tactic from our Control programme.
