Training Needs Analysis

Health and Safety Executive Research Report on Training in Violence Management (RR440):

‘The aim of a Training Needs Analysis (TNA) is to assesses and better meet the competency requirements of the organisation and the persons who operate within it. A TNA is a structured approach to identifying the training which is required in an organisation so that strategic (corporate, team or individual) objectives can be achieved. The TNA, to be most effective, should identify what staff need to know as part of their job, what they need to be able to do better and what they need to be able to do differently. The outcomes of a TNA should be used to establish both the objectives of the training (i.e. what the training aims to do and how this relates to the organisations objectives) and the specific learning outcomes (i.e. what the trainer will teach the participants).’

In order to correctly implement training in conflict resolution, personal safety and physical interventions, it is increasingly important within the legal and regulatory environment to provide evidence of the proper commissioning of training. The following analysis is designed to help us in providing evidence that the needs of your staff and your organisation have been assessed and that the appropriate level and content of training has been offered.  It is designed to structure and guide your approach to the training requirement and will assist us to help you meet the real needs of your team.

Thank you so much for spending the time on this task - it is central to keeping you and your team safe."
